Familiar with Gus Macker? A family friendly sporting event for all. Filled with positive vibes and entertainment, it has become a long established Michigan tradition. As summer closely comes to an end, Gus Macker gives Flint locals one last public event, offering welcoming entertainment before the seasons begin to transition.
What originally started in 1974 as spring break fun for a few Lowell, MI kids has turned into a weekend long event for all. Men and women of all ages are encouraged to participate. Teams are made up of four players, categorized into age groups, with participants ranging from age 10 and under to 50 and up. Men teams, women teams, and even co-ed teams set the stage for a diverse crowd. Lets not just focus on the team play as this event also highlights a dunk contest, a lightning contest, a free throw contest, and much more. Come attend and support the community as Gus Macker celebrates its 47th year of business.
WHEN AND WHERE:
This years’ tournament will take place September 18-19 in Downtown Flint, 125 E Kearsley St. Games will begin to tip-off September 18th for a portion of the participating teams. Prepare to stay cool and hydrated as these are day long events, spread out among multiple courts covering the Flatlot.
