Flint Firebirds start off 2021 season with shutout victory

FLINT, MI - The Flint Firebirds commence the 2021 season opener with a convincing 3-0 shutout victory over the Erie Otters. The crowd was alive and well as many Michigan locals cheered on celebrating the victory throughout the newly revamped Dort Federal Center.



While the game started off slow for both parties, the Firebirds started to show signs of life by scoring the first goal of the game after about 20 minutes of action. The Firebirds started to pull away following up the first goal with another two scores, leaving the Otters scoreless. Three Firebird players were awarded with ‘Star of the Game’ honors and those players were Luke Cavallin, Brennan Othman, and Braeden Kressler respectively. Cavallin saved 35 pucks, while Othman and Kressler each scored goals, playing pivotal roles in the Firebirds season opening win.
