Everett Sweeps Sexton In Rivalry Weekend: Recap

Fun And Competition Highlight A Competitive Two-Day Clash

Lansing - In what can only be billed as a celebration of Viking and Big Red pride, Lansing high schools Everett and Sexton went head-to-head in a generationally-competitive two days of sports, with the Everett Vikings taking the crown in both. The rivalry spans decades and is a source of local trash-talk yearly. First up was the crosstown showdown between the football programs. The fall football season kicked off Friday Night and Lansing Everett won the showdown by a score of 14-7. You can watch that recap on Everett's Facebook page.

Saturday afternoon saw the basketball programs tip-off their annual alumni charity game. Hosted this year at Don Johnson Fieldhouse, the game featured many of Sexton's and Everett's top talent from each of their storied championship histories. Everett again came out on top, sweeping the rivalry weekend while generating needed funds for the community. While the Vikings were the school taking home the pride, a weekend of fun, competition, and good weather was the win we all deserved and received! Check out the recap video from the annual Alumni game below!
