The 12-day art extravaganza culminates Christmas Day on ABC and CBS!
LANSING - In case the colorful lights, chilling snow, and empty stores haven't shown, it's the holiday season! Christmas spirit is abound through Lansing, and a stroll through Old Town or down the Washington Square would cure any forgetfulness.
But, true to Lansing, Art makes everything that much better. No different in the holiday season! You certainly recall Christmas crafts at school and home. All of the amazing entertainment across your television, being cemented by the coldest of nature's beauties - snow. The wintertime hot drinks and memories with loved ones that locked in a favorite time of year for many.
Would anyone like to, say, combine them all?
Don't worry. It's already being done ... in fact it's already here! Opportunity Art's proudly presents '12 Days Of Christmas: an Art Event Series' to the Capital Region. Poetry, music, visual art and displays, performances, photography, themed art classes, and so many other forms of art all wrapped in a special 12-day long present, and gifted to us by Opportunity Arts. The showcase will culminate with a beautiful holiday concert set to air on ABC (53, WLAJ) and CBS (6, WLNS) Christmas Eve at 11pm est.
Opportunity Arts, the team behind the art extravaganza, is a local arts company focused on pushing the arts community forward by working alongside some of the most talented artists in the state of Michigan, providing them, as well as art businesses, with services crucial to their growth. At the helm is owner Mike Marriott, an arts promoter and current co-chair of the Mayor's Art and Culture Commission For The City Of Lansing, MI. Mike is quoted as saying, “My team & I at Opportunity Arts have put together a bunch of different Holiday themed art events that our local community can enjoy while celebrating the season,” and went on to explain: “We are also excited to showcase the amazing artistic talent that will be on display throughout the festivities.”

Monday Night Masterpiece with Sarah Renee Sanders – The Lighter Side of the Holidays:
Sarah Renee Sanders, the owner of Contrasted Content, holds an Art History Degree from Lansing Community College and will be discussing the lighter side of Holiday Art through the years.

Songs of the Season with Opportunity Arts:
Songs of the Season, performed in the beautiful Turner-Dodge House Ballroom. This live Holiday concert will feature internationally acclaimed vocal performers Stephano Andreotti & Sarah Elizabeth Wallace, with esteemed pianist Liudmila Bondar. The event will be recorded for television with a live audience and air on Christmas Eve at 11:00pm as a simulcast on CBS 6 WLNS & ABC 53 WLAJ, on Christmas Day at 2:30am on CBS 6 WLNS and at 6:30am on CW-5 ELAJ. Ornament Painting with Autumn Hopkins:
