Grand Rapids Gold Hoping New Pieces Pay Off

There's a new coach, new stars, and a new home arena for the Denver Nuggets affiliate


GRAND RAPIDS -


Excitement is brewing around the Grand Rapids Gold as they tip-off their new season.


A new season means new beginnings for the Denver Nuggets G-League affiliate. Andre Miller, former Denver Nuggets star, will be entering his first season coaching the Gold, replacing last years coach Jason Terry. Last seaon G League 1st teamer, Justin Tillman, has also joined the team after perviously playing for the Atlanta Hawks affiliate team. 2x NBA Champ, Norris Cole, will be quarterbacking the players with veteran savviness, offering top level insight and perspective.

     

The Gold are looking to build on a 5-6 season, a season that left much to be desired. With a new coach and core of players fans are expecting to see an improved season. You can feel the shift of energy at the Golds opening media day.


It’s important that the Gold presents a new spirit as they’ll be opening the season at the prestigious Van Andel arena. This'll be their inagural season at Van Andel as they previously played at DeltaPlex Arena.


 With players battling for contracts and roster spots, you should expect to see a renewed since of pride on display as their season tips off Nov 5th on the road against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. November 10th is when fans can expect to see the hometown team opening the doors of Van Andel, as the Gold attempt to become apart of Grand Rapids sports history.
