The NBAs 2023 season tips off Tuesday the 16th. You can expect the see the home state Pistons tipping off their season the following night, hosting the Orlando Magic. With a young roster and little to no expectations on their season, fans should expect to see some exciting ball being played. Last season the Pistons finished second to last place in the eastern conference. Cade Cunningham and company looks to the build on their lackluster season, as camaraderie and chemistry will be gained through another season of NBA experience.
Schedule Breakdown
Evan Walsh, the NBA schedule maker, doesn’t expect the Pistons to be much of a competitor, as the Pistons were only scheduled one nationally televised game throughout ESPN, ABC, and TNT- the NBAs three major sports broadcasting networks. They’re one of four teams who won’t have a game on either ABC and ESPN, but they do get three televised games on NBA TV. Down below is a list of the televised games and few notable games highlighted throughout their schedule.
10/28/22: Hawks @ Pistons, 7pm. Although this won’t be a nationally televised game, this’ll be the first game the Pistons debuts their classic teal jerseys.
10/30/22: Golden State @ Pistons, 6pm. How will the young Pistons fair against the the 2022 world champs?
11/12/22: Boston @ Pistons, 7pm. Will the Pistons showcase a competitive spirit against the reigning Eastern Conference champions?
12/11/22: Lakers @ Detroit, 6pm. With many of the Piston players growing up idolizing Lebron James, will the moment be too big for the team or will they have a ‘idols turn into rivals’ moment?
12/1/22: Dallas @ Pistons, 7pm. NETWORK: NBA TV. This’ll be the Pistons first game on television.
1/10/23: Pistons @ Philadelphia, 7:30pm. NETWORK: TNT. This is the Pistons one and only game on a main network.
1/19/23: Pistons vs Bulls, 3pm. NETWORK: NBA TV. The time of this game may be surprising and that’s because this game will be played in Paris.
3/27/23: Bucks @ Pistons, 7pm. NETWORK: NBA TV. This’ll be last televised game for the pistons as the season starts to ramp up for the playoffs.
